About Charles





Charles James has been politically active, socially useful and generally positive. He took on an instant family, which has  worked out amazingly well.


Charles was in Chambers Guide To The Legal Profession as  a lawyer specialising in immigration and political asylum. He served briefly on the Council of the Law Society representing the immigration solicitors.


Charles James increased the Labour vote by 80% to win a safe Tory ward for Labour. Four years later he increased his vote 47% to secure the highest ever vote for any candidate in that ward. The following year a second Labour councillor was elected.


Charles was alternately Chair and Vice Chair of a junior and infant school in Bradford for six years.


Charles spent his working life in England. Charles lives in Portugal where he helps his wife with DIY and  the quinta.  He also  writes.
